Dear Editor:

The “Israel, U.S. Wage A Battle Between Allies” article (9/4) highlighted the rising tension between our two countries’ Administrations.

More exactly, however, the tension is escalating between the Obama Administration and the minority Democratic Party versus the majority of the U.S. population and the majority in Congress and Israel and the majority of the Sunni Arab states.

Those in the majority are acting in their own self-interest to protect themselves from the Iranian terror organization, that pretends to be a legitimate government. Those in the minority are seeking to appease Iran through a “gift” of $150 billion.

The key reason for the conflict between the minority and the majority is that the minority is not acting in our own long-term self-interest, for which we will all pay, as the previous generation learned through similar shortsighted policies that directly led to the death of 60 million people in World War II.
