The function of the U.S. Secretary of State is to act as the face and voice of the United States to the world, second only to that of the President. His or her voice must be credible, consistent and trustworthy, or the U.S. will be viewed as the opposite.
Then, on September 17, Kerry praised Code Pink, the terrorist-enabling radical leftist group, in a Senate hearing. Kerry also criticized Code Pink, however, for opposing U.S. military action against ISIS – specifically because the terror group is not giving the people over whom it rules free healthcare, a staple demand of Code Pink:
In reality, seven days earlier, an ISIS-affiliated Islamist in England(!) explicitly stated that the terror group does provide free health care to those who join it. As reported by Breitbart London, the notorious Mizenour Rahman posted the following on his Facebook page(!) on September 10:
Ten Facts from the #Islamic_State that everyone should know.
1. We don’t pay rent here. Houses are given for free.
2. We pay neither electric nor water bills.
3. We are given monthly grocery supplies. Spagetti(sic), pasta, can foods, rice, eggs and etc.
4. Monthly allowance are given not only to husband and wife (wives) but also for each child.
5. Medical check up and medication are free – The Islamic State pays on behalf of you.
Does this revelation mean that Kerry will retract his criticism of ISIS?
And given the range of the welfare state benefits the terror group provides to those over whom it rules, does this mean that it will get the formal endorsement of Western leftists (as its platform so closely parallels the demands of, for example, the Socialist Party USA’s campaign platform)?
One thing is certain: No one who takes issues seriously has any reason to listen to anything Kerry has to say anymore.
In this perilous world, and given the threats facing Western culture, this is a tragedy as great as any other.
